Marlies van Haesbergen does nightly rounds in the office building where she resides. During one of her tours, she finds Paul Vreeden sitting in the boardroom at the head of the table. To her horror, he is dead. She rushes to her apartment to call someone, but decides to return to the boardroom. The dead man has vanished.
