Glen Isla is the most westerly of the glorious glens of Angus, with the River Isla emerging from Caenlochan Glen and flowing down a valley scoured and scraped by glacial erosion. The glen has a turbulent history but in more recent times settled down as a mixture of sporting estates with lodges and smaller farms. Nearby is the Perthshire town of Alyth.
