The complete short stories: Volume 1

Buchan, John, 1875-19401996
Books, Manuscripts
John Buchan is now principally remembered for his thrillers, and in particular The Thirty Nine Steps, but in a writing career that spanned almost fifty years and over a hundred books he also wrote biographies, children's stories, poetry, history books, historical works, essays and hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles. What is hardly known is that he was a prolific and highly successful short-story writer, especially as a young man.
