Trick or treat

Sharp, Jackson2015
Books, Manuscripts
Oxford in October: on the outskirts of the city, the mutilated body of a local doctor is found flayed and robed in his own skin. The gruesome crime scene displays religious iconography leading DI Lauren Rose the detective assigned to the case, to University's theology department. Here, Professor Matthew Brask - on exchange from Harvard - identifies the agonies suffered by the victim as identical to those that killed martyred apostle St Bartholomew. A series of unsolved deaths across Europe suggest a murderer with a dangerous religious obsession is on the loose and that the doctor's death is likely only to be the first of a pattern of three. And it's up to Rose and Brask to stop the Halloween Killer.
